At North Madison County Tutoring Center, our tutors are committed to helping each child recognize and use his educational potential.
A customized approach is used with each child, utilizing a variety of methods, including the Orton-Gillingham Method for struggling readers, all of which are designed to meet the student's individual needs. Emphasis is placed upon strengthening the basic skills and applying those skills to schoolwork.
Our atmosphere is relaxed and includes lots of old-fashioned care and encouragement. Regular progress reports keep parents apprised of the student's progress toward meeting goals. Suggestions from your child's classroom teacher are encouraged and welcomed.
Preliminary appointments to discuss your child's needs are available free of charge.

Qualifications
Each tutor has classroom and tutoring experience with a strong phonics emphasis for reading remediation.
Each tutor has earned an education degree.
Three tutors are Orton-Gillingham Method trained for helping dyslexic students.
References are available upon request.
The student/tutor ratio is capped at three to one.
Hours and fees
Standing appointments are available after school hours during the school year and during the day through the summer months.
The base fee for standard tutoring is $30 per hour; call NMCTC for Orton-Gillingham Method tutoring fee.
