Genuine Enthusiastic Mature Saints

The G.E.M.S. of Calvary Baptist Church consist of those who are grandparents, parents with married children, or those who are over the age of 50. All who fit into this bracket are welcome to join us.

The G.E.M.S were started in 1993 because there was a need for a senior ministry - a time for the group to draw closer to each other and the Lord with a need to reach out to others. A meeting is planned for each month. Sometimes it is a "get together" where we go out to eat with a time for devotions and desert at someone's home. At other times, it is a trip planned to some place in the general area.

In the fall, we have a spiritual retreat. We try to plan this at different places each year for variety but also keep it close to home so it's not a long trip.

Everyone is encouraged to be a part of the ministry. We need homes in which to meet for devotions, deserts, picnics, and meals. There is always a need for people to give devotions or plan an activity. We encourage all that meet the eligibility requirements to participate.
